Root Canal Treatment · Lajpat Nagar Delhi
Modern rotary endodontics. Single or multiple sittings. Honest diagnosis — we never recommend root canal unless you genuinely need it.
What Is Root Canal Treatment?
Root canal treatment is a dental procedure used to treat infected or damaged pulp — the innermost part of a tooth containing nerves and blood vessels. Left untreated, an infected tooth causes severe pain and can lead to abscess, bone loss and tooth extraction.
At Dr. Tooshar’z Multispeciality Dental Clinic, root canal treatments are performed using modern rotary endodontic instruments under local anaesthesia. The procedure is virtually painless and can often be completed in a single sitting. Most patients are surprised by how comfortable the experience is.
Dr. Tushar’s philosophy: if root canal treatment is not genuinely necessary, he will tell you. Honest diagnosis first, always.
Recognise the Signs
Persistent, intense pain in a tooth especially when biting or applying pressure is a common sign of infected pulp requiring treatment.
Lingering sensitivity to heat or cold that persists long after the source is removed may indicate nerve damage inside the tooth.
Swelling, tenderness or a pimple-like bump on the gum near a tooth signals infection that has spread beyond the tooth root.
A tooth that has turned dark grey or black may have a dead or dying nerve inside. This requires assessment and often root canal treatment.
A crack that extends deep into the tooth can expose the pulp to bacteria, leading to infection over time if left untreated.
Severe tooth decay that reaches the pulp chamber cannot be treated with a filling alone. Root canal treatment is required to save the tooth.
What to Expect
Dr. Tushar examines the tooth and takes a digital X-ray to assess the extent of infection and determine whether root canal treatment is necessary.
The area around the tooth is numbed with local anaesthetic. You will feel pressure but no pain. Most patients are comfortable throughout.
The infected or damaged pulp is carefully removed using modern rotary endodontic instruments. The root canals are cleaned and shaped.
The cleaned canals are filled with a biocompatible material called gutta-percha and sealed to prevent re-infection.
A dental crown is placed over the treated tooth to restore strength and protect it. The tooth continues to function normally for years.
Common Questions
Modern root canal treatment at Dr. Tooshar’z Clinic is performed under local anaesthesia and is virtually painless. Most patients say the procedure feels no different from getting a filling. Any post-procedure soreness typically resolves within 24–48 hours.
Many root canal treatments can be completed in a single sitting using modern rotary instruments. Complex cases or severely infected teeth may require 2 sittings. Dr. Tushar will tell you what to expect at your consultation.
Root canal treatment at Dr. Tooshar’z Clinic starts from ₹3,000 depending on which tooth is affected (front teeth require less work than back molars). The cost of a crown fitted after treatment is separate. Full costs are confirmed before treatment begins.
In almost all cases, saving a natural tooth through root canal treatment is preferable to extraction. Natural teeth function better, look better and prevent bone loss in the jaw. Extraction leads to gaps and eventual bone resorption unless replaced by an implant. Dr. Tushar will give you an honest recommendation based on your specific situation.
