Accessibility & Inclusivity

Built for
Everyone.

Dr. Tooshar’z Multispeciality Dental Clinic’s website was built with one commitment: every patient — regardless of age, ability, language, or background — deserves a digital presence that works for them.

Our Commitment

This is an
Inclusive Space.

This website was built from scratch with deliberate, documented decisions at every step to ensure it works for patients with colour blindness, low vision, motor impairment, dyslexia, vestibular disorders, and older patients who may not be digital natives.

Every colour combination was mathematically tested. Every interactive element has a touch target of at least 48×48 pixels. Every image has descriptive text for screen readers. Every form field has a visible label. Every page has a skip-to-content link for keyboard users.

This is not a checkbox exercise. These decisions exist because 1 in 8 men has colour blindness, 1 in 10 people has dyslexia, and a significant portion of dental patients are over 50 — groups routinely underserved by web design.

“I never recommend treatment a patient doesn’t genuinely need. That’s not a policy — it’s just who I am.”

— Dr. Tushar Suneja, BDS · MDS · MOI (USA)

What We Provide

Accommodations for
Every Patient

These are the concrete things we do — on the website and at the clinic — to ensure every patient can access our care.

Website

Screen Reader Support

  • 63 ARIA labels and landmarks across all pages
  • Descriptive alt text on every clinical image
  • Skip-to-content link on every page
  • Logical heading hierarchy throughout
Website

Keyboard Navigation

Every button, link, and form field on this site can be reached and activated using only a keyboard. No mouse or touchscreen is required to book an appointment, read content, or contact us.

  • Tab order follows natural reading flow
  • Focus indicators visible at all times
  • Mobile menu aria-expanded state managed
  • No keyboard traps anywhere on the site
Website

Motion & Contrast

Patients with vestibular disorders, migraines, or epilepsy can disable animations in their OS settings — this site respects that automatically. High contrast mode is also fully supported.

  • prefers-reduced-motion — all animations off
  • forced-colors — Windows High Contrast safe
  • Minimum contrast ratio 5.55:1 (WCAG AA)
  • No flashing or strobing content
Clinic

  • Hindi and English spoken at the clinic
  • WhatsApp communication accepted in Hindi
  • Plain English throughout the website
  • All prices stated clearly — no hidden fees

  • Dedicated children’s dentistry page
  • Free first visit always prominent
  • Gentle, anxiety-reducing copy
  • WhatsApp pre-fills child visit context

Older Patients (50+)

A significant proportion of implant and restorative patients are over 50. Motor impairment, reduced contrast sensitivity, and digital confidence are all considered.

Colour Vision Deficiency

Built for Colour Blind
Patients Too.

Approximately 8% of men and 0.5% of women have some form of colour vision deficiency. For a dental clinic in Delhi, that is potentially hundreds of patients a month. Every interactive element on this site communicates meaning without relying on colour alone.

Deuteranopia
~8% of men · Red-green blind

Most Common Type

Greens and reds appear as shades of brown and olive. Our green CTA buttons could appear dark brown to these patients. Fix: every CTA button is distinguished by shape, weight, and position — not colour alone. Hover states use border animation, not colour change.

Fixed in Code

Protanopia
~1% of men · Red-blind

Second Most Common

Similar to deuteranopia. Forest green appears very dark. Contrast ratios are maintained because our palette relies on luminance (light/dark) differences, not just hue differences. The 12.4:1 ratio on white-on-forest is unaffected.

Passes WCAG AA

Achromatopsia
<0.003% · No colour perception

Full Greyscale Vision

The site renders as a high-contrast greyscale palette. Forest green becomes dark grey, cream becomes near-white. All content remains fully legible. Contrast ratios of up to 16.3:1 hold in greyscale simulation.

Full Greyscale Safe

Star Ratings
Universal fix applied

5/5 in Text Too

Star ratings (★★★★★) can appear identical in certain colour-blind simulations. Every rating on this site also displays “5/5” in visible text alongside the stars. The score is readable without relying on star colour.

Text Fallback Added

Mathematical Verification

Every Colour Combination Tested

WCAG 2.1 AA requires 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text. Every combination used on this site was computed, not guessed. The minimum across the entire site is 5.55:1 — 23% above the requirement.

Foreground Background Ratio Used Where Result

Specific Decisions in Code

The Technical Record

Every item below is a verifiable decision that exists in the codebase. Not aspirations. Not intentions. Decisions that can be audited in the source.

SEO & Discoverability

FAQPage Schema on Every Treatment Page

26 FAQ items across 6 pages with full JSON-LD schema markup. Each question is individually marked up with schema.org/Question and schema.org/Answer. Google can display these as rich results in search.

SEO & Local Search

LocalBusiness + Dentist Schema with Geo Coordinates

Full Dentist schema with exact GPS coordinates (28.5786, 77.2367), opening hours, aggregate rating, service catalogue with 8+ treatments, and founder credentials including AACD membership.

Performance

Hero Image Prioritised for LCP

The hero image has fetchpriority="high" and loading="eager". All other images use loading="lazy". Explicit width and height attributes on all images prevent Cumulative Layout Shift.

Accessibility

WCAG 2.1 AA Compliant Forms

Every form field has a visible <label> element, not just placeholder text. Placeholder text disappears on focus — labels never do. Required fields are marked with both visual indicators and aria attributes.

Accessibility

Complete Keyboard Navigation

Every interactive element is reachable by Tab key. Focus indicators are 3px gold rings. Skip-to-content is the first element on every page. Mobile menu aria-expanded state managed correctly on open and close.

Legal Compliance

Multi-Jurisdiction Privacy Policy

Full privacy policy with specific sections for UK (GDPR), Canada (PIPEDA), and Australia (Privacy Act). Right to access, right to correction, right to deletion, and right to withdraw consent — all documented.

WordPress Integration

CSS Scoped to #clinic-page

All CSS is scoped to the #clinic-page and #dtz-* wrappers. Not a single rule affects other WordPress pages, theme templates, or plugins. Zero side effects on the host CMS.

Patient Experience

33+ Pre-Filled WhatsApp Messages

Every WhatsApp link across all pages sends a contextually pre-filled message. A patient clicking “Book Free First Visit” on Children’s Dentistry arrives in WhatsApp with the message already written — not a blank window.

Real-Time UX

Live Open/Closed Status Indicator

A JavaScript function runs on every page load, checks the time against IST (Asia/Kolkata timezone), and displays “Open Now” or “Closed — opens Monday at 10am” in real time. Mathematically correct for all days and edge cases.

Print Accessibility

Print Stylesheet on Every Page

Patients who print the contact page get phone numbers printed with the full tel: href visible. Navigation, floating buttons, and dark backgrounds are suppressed. The printout is clean and useful.

Motion Sensitivity

prefers-reduced-motion Fully Respected

When a patient sets “Reduce Motion” in their OS, all CSS animations, transitions, scroll reveals, and the WhatsApp pulse ring are disabled automatically — without any extra action from the patient.

Contrast Mode

Windows High Contrast Mode Supported

The forced-colors: active media query ensures that when a patient uses Windows High Contrast Mode, buttons retain visible borders, cards retain outlines, and the site remains fully navigable without colour.
